I can not draw. I don’t really like to draw. Well, that’s not true, because I really like to draw.
So how is it now?
It never excited me, it never moved me to draw flowers, still lifes, landscapes or study-drawings.
Of course I did it – several times, I think quite a few times, but only to improve my drawing skills.
But to no avail – it didn’t develop the way I wanted it to. Maybe not because I didn’t enjoy drawing squares and draperies.
I like to draw what I see in my imagination. Not what is in reality. But what exists in my reality.
Many times a colorful image swims in out of nowhere – I see it completely clearly – and there is often a twist in this image (not in the real sense, but in the abstract sense).
I can see it quite clearly, although I have never been able to reproduce it the way I see it.
And I have to draw this floating vision. To calm down, to feel good, I have to create.
It must be turned from imagination to reality.
And I really like this process. When I do that, I’m happy.
Especially if it goes well. Or, if at least acceptable.
I always wanted to be able to draw like the greats, the trained, academic painters. I had to admit that, I had to accept that I have no talent for it. I don’t see space, proportions, abbreviations, foreshortings well – and my visual memory is bad.
But I have a great visual imagination. I think this is what makes the pictures interesting.
The title is very important for every image – so please don’t forget to read the title.
And I add a few thoughts to each picture about what the symbol hidden in the picture means to me. But don’t let these lines prevent you from forming your own thoughts, dear Visitor. Keep thinking about the image and find your own interpretation.
Because in fact, the message of each picture is what it means to you (if it has a message).
After all, every work is separated from its creator at the moment of completion. The work has a life of its own, and how the creator interprets the work is only one interpretation among many, and that interpretation is no more relevant than any other interpretation.
There are pictures made with oil chalk, and some drawn with colored pencils. You can also see images that I modified using computer technology.
